The Pastoral Care Department provides pastoral counseling and grief counseling to the patients and residents on our main campus. Our Chaplains are also involved in community outreach through Brook Lane's commitment to clergy members. There are a number of ongoing offerings designed to support pastors and their churches.
- Crisis Counseling for pastors on an occasional basis or as many as five sessions without charge.
- Five Counseling sessions without charge to members of a pastor's family.
- Consultation on matters of church and ministry.
- Consultation on matters of mental illness or emotional disorders.
- Referral information regarding Brook Lane or other services that may be needed.
- Assistance with ministering to members of your congregation who may be patients at Brook Lane.
- Preaching or teaching at your church as time allows.
- A day of prayer and conversation for church staff.
- Confidentiality in all of the above.
Brook Lane also offers an Annual Seminar for Pastors in January. The one and one-half day event is designed to be low cost and high value with meals and materials included. One CEU is given to those who participate in the entire event.
The Pastoral Care Department hosts a Day of Conversation for pastors each
spring and fall. It is intended to be a Sabbath, a day away for reflecting
among caring colleagues. The agenda is conversation about our lives and ministries
against the backdrop of an interesting book. Each day is limited to 12 participants
for the sake of conversation.
