This skills-based, continuing education, program will teach clinicians concrete and practical skills for working with couples and families. The Relationship Enhancement® (RE) Model is a psychoeducational program and brief therapy model that employs a skills-training methodology for empowering distressed couples and families. It enables them to uncover and communicate deep feelings, concerns and desires and will help them develop skills to create solutions to problems while also deepening a sense of connection and, as relevant, facilitating a process of healing and reconciliation. The seminar will focus on four core RE skills: Empathic, Expressive, Structure Dialoged Process and Conflict Management with a brief explanation of the other six RE skills. Discussion will also include how RE therapy equalizes power within relationships, both between genders and across generations. The workshop will involve lecture, demonstrations, videos and a practical exercise.
