The Child and Adolescent High Acuity Residential Crisis Program is a transitional residential service for youth ages 8 to 17 experiencing significant behavioral or mental health challenges. The program offers a highly structured, therapeutic environment with access to hospital-level clinical resources, while serving as an alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. All referrals are coordinated through the Maryland Behavioral Health Administration (BHA), and each youth is admitted with an identified next placement to ensure continuity of care. With a longer average stay than inpatient treatment, the program focuses on stabilization, education, and preparing each child for a successful transition to the next level of care.”
