Internships

Internship and Practicum opportunities when available will be posted here.

An internship or practicum will allow you to integrate classroom theory with real life experiences, demonstrate the relevance of your course work, and motivate you to learn more. It will allow you to explore a potential career field, and develop career-related skills and abilities while observing professional people in the workplace. All internships or practicums are unpaid and offered in cooperation with your college or university.

Brook Lane accepts applications from undergraduate and graduate students. Undergraduate internships have limited availability. Opportunities for internships may be available in the following areas:

  • Hospital
  • Laurel Hall School-Hagerstown and Frederick
  • Marketing Department
  • Outpatient Offices – North Village and Frederick
  • Partial Hospital Programs
  • THRIVE Program

All interns participate in a 2.5-day orientation process and must provide background reference checks, complete a criminal record check, receive two tuberculosis skin tests and an influenza vaccination. Interested candidates should complete the internship application.

Please Note: Brook Lane requires that all interns, must be fully vaccinated for COVID prior to their start date. Interns offered a position will have to provide documentation of their vaccination status prior to their first day at Brook Lane.  Brook Lane has a process for interns to request an exemption or deferral for medical or religious reasons, if the school does not offer a process.
