Brook Lane Secures Spot on Most Beautiful Hospital List

Aerial View of Brook Lane HospitalBrook Lane is excited to announce that it has secured the No. 12 spot in Soliant’s Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals contest. The annual contest aims to recognize hospitals across the country for their facility design, aesthetics, comforting staff and patient experience by asking the public to nominate and vote on the facilities where they have had great experiences.

Brook Lane is a non-profit mental health system with 500 employees providing mental and behavioral health care to individuals across Western Maryland, the Eastern Panhandle region, parts of West Virginia and Pennsylvania. In the last year, our 58-bed hospital served nearly 1,500 patients, helping them on their journey of hope, healing and recovery.

“Our beautiful hospital sits on a 115 acre campus with a babbling brook, sprawling rural farm fields and spectacular mountain views that provide an excellent healing environment. That is only part of the formula, though,” says Jeffery O’Neal, CEO of Brook Lane. “Our compassionate employees make the true difference by striving to ensure that patients at Brook Lane have a positive life-changing experience while here. It is an honor and privilege for Brook Lane to be selected and we congratulate the other organizations on Soliant’s Top 20 List.”

With more than 506,195 votes cast for the 50 hospitals nominated, Brook Lane emerged as one of the top 20 facilities recognized by supporters on Soliant’s annual list.

“I would like to express my appreciation and congratulations to the hospitals that made it to this year's list of the Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals,” said David Alexander, CEO of Soliant. “These facilities recognize that the beauty of a hospital is deeper than just appearance – that it also includes well-designed, functional infrastructure and a nurturing staff that is devoted to cultivating a safe and comfortable space for patients to properly heal. For these reasons, they very much deserve this distinction.”

About Soliant’s Annual Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals Contest

Beginning in 2009, Soliant conducts an annual contest to discover hospitals in the United States that prove beauty is more than skin deep – that it starts from within and radiates through by making patients feel more comfortable, healing them faster and treating them like family. Whether it’s soothing art and design, a healing garden to make a hospital feel more like home or support of the top-notch staff who knows that love and laughter may be the best medicine, Soliant seeks out nominations and votes from community members and staff for those hospitals they feel best represent what they find beautiful.
