Coping with Loneliness
Loneliness is a feeling you experience when your close relationships and social interactions are not meeting your current needs. Despite the term, you don’t always have to be alone to feel lonely. Feelings of loneliness can be triggered when we’re around a lot of people but feel like we don’t quite fit in or if we have lost an important person in our life, like a partner, family member or close friend. Join Teresa Coda, M.Div., as she takes a closer look at loneliness, shares coping strategies and discusses the importance of having social support.
Teresa Coda, M.Div., is an MSW intern providing therapy services in the outpatient program at Brook Lane’s North Village location. She has a background in hospital chaplaincy and looks forward to getting licensed as a social worker when she graduates in May this year.
